Research Development Plan

The Directorate of Research, Planning and Industrial Development (DRPID) consists of Research and Planning, Private Public Partnership, Spatial Development Initiatives (Development Corridors), Library and Industrial Entrepreneurship Units. The DRPID coordinates pre- investments studies to backup rational decisions and plans on investments in basic industrial projects, planning and M & E process. Also, the DRPID coordinates Spatial Development Initiative (SDI), which is involved in coordination of studies, consolidation and implementation of anchor projects in development corridors (i.e Mtwara, Central, Uhuru and Tanga) with a focus on enhancing regional development balance and attraction of investors, inter alia. In addition, DRPID has function of giving advice on PPP engagements including build Transfer and Operate.

The DRPID provides library services including collection and display of documents and articles to various inhouse professionals and external users such as students. The DRPID also provides industrial development through facilitation of entrepreneurship initiatives
